Chitwan Wildlife Jungle Safari.
Chitwan National Park is Nepal’s first national park and one of the most popular tourist destinations. It is a rich natural area in the Terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal, and was declared a national park in 1973 A.D (2030 B.S). The salient landscape, covered with delighting vegetation and the Himalayas as the background makes the park an exceptional natural beauty. The forested south-facing hills, riverine landscapes and fascinating grasslands make Chitwan one of the most attractive parts of Nepal’s lowlands and the most visited tourist destination in the region.
Snuggled at the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan National Park has a particularly rich flora and fauna. It is the home to the endangered species of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and the Bengal Tiger. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. Elephant, Gharial, Crocodile and Turtle conservation and breeding centres are the other attractions of this park. There are several lodges inside and outside the national park offering full range of services along with elephant and jeep safaris, rafting tours and guided jungle walks. Elephant Polo competition, elephant race, elephant football games are organized on special fairs and festivals.
