Langtang Trekking
Langtang is one of the most easily accessible region of Nepal and also a best region to provide you a total trekking experience in short duration of time. Lying in the North of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, extends to the Tibetan border and comprises a number of peaks ranging from Chholangpati Danda (4788m) to Langtang Lirung (7248m), Langtang region is protected by Langtang National Park which is established in 1976 and mostly covered with pine, oak, maple and many other vegetations. Rhododendron flowers decorate the entire forest during the spring season giving trekkers a rare enchanting view of the subtropical forest. This region is also inhabited by some endangered species like Himalayan thar, red panda, Himalayan black bear etc. This region is one of the richest region of Nepal for its unique and speritual culture deserved by many ethnic groups. Tamang and Sherpa are two main ethnic groups, dominated in this remote and unspoilted region. Gosainkunda, the sacred lake in this region is a religious site for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Kyanjin Gompa, a Buddhist monaster and a government yak cheese factory, is also a must visit site in this region. This region has a longest glacier too, called Langtang Glacier. These all features have made this region a popular destination for researchers, scientists, wildlife observers and nature lovers.
