Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
After you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu we will transfer you to one of the renowned hotels in the capital city. You shall spend the overnight there.
Day 2: Chinese visa obtaining
On this day, we will have a pre-departure meeting with all the crew members. Then we shall move on for Tibet visa processing. Finally we’ll be staying at the hotel for the overnight.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Zhangmu
Early in the morning we will drive you to Kodari (the border of China and Nepal) and then we move on to Zhangmu. The whole journey from Kathmandu to Zhangmu will take about one and half hour. Along the drive, you can see landscapes, mountains and other beautiful sceneries. Then we will book a room for you in a hotel for your night stay.
Day 4: Zhangmu to Xegar
On this day, we drive you from Zhangmu to Xegar. On the way, we will be crossing Nyalam pass (3800m) and Lalung la pass (5050m) . While driving you can enjoy the view of Bhotekoshi river, waterfalls and the mountain sceneries. You can also see the Jugal mountain range, Mt. Xixapangma at 8013m-26,282ft, Mt. Makalu at 8463m - 27,766ft, Mt. Everest at 848 m- 29,028ft, Mt. Lhotse at 8516m- 27,940ft and Mt. Cho-Oyu at 8201m - 26,899ft . During the night you will stay in a hotel.
Day 5: Xegar to Shigatse (3900m)
We will drive to Shigatse from Xegar on the fifth day. It will be another scenic drive as we’ll be passing through open plains, many monasteries and camps of nomadic herders. After the noon we shall visit the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama. We would stay in a hotel for the night.
Day 06: Shigatse to Gyantse (3900m)
In the morning, we will visit the Free Market in Shigatse and then we proceed to Gyantse, the place of historical significance. Gyantse was the capital of a small kingdom in the 15th century. We’ll be visiting a massive temple of Palkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa which are considered to be ancient monasteries in Gyantse that contain some of the most extraordinary works of Tibetan art. In the night, we shall stay at a guesthouse or a hotel.
Day 07: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m)
We drive to Lhasa, crossing 2 passes: The Karo La (5010m) and Kamba La (4794m). It takes about 8 hours to complete this trip. Within that period of time, you shall enjoy the interesting views of unusual landscapes. You can also see Brahmaputra River and wonderful Yamdrok Tso Lake. Overnight stay will be in a hotel.
Day 08: A day in Lhasa
On this day we will be having the sightseeing tour in Lhasa. Sera Monastery (biggest Gelugpa monastery), Jokhang Temple ( holiest of Tibetan temple) and Barkhor Bazaar( traditional street) will be the main attractions of the sightseeing tour. Eventually we’ll stay at a guesthouse or at a hotel.
Day 09: Another day in Lhasa
We will complete the sightseeing Tour in Lhasa by visiting Potala Palace (winter palace of the Dalai Lama), Norbulingka Palace (summer palace of the Dalai Lama) and Drepung Monastery. The beauty and originality of the architecture, cultural relics, wall paintings, their rich ornamentation and harmonious integration in a striking landscape, add to their historic and religious interest. We will be staying in a hotel overnight.
Day 10: Lhasa - Kathmandu (1350M).
We need to transfer to Gongkar airport as departure will be scheduled with Air China's flight to Kathmandu. The flight will cross the Himalayan range providing you a spectacular view of the mountains. We will arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu and then transfer to a hotel spending the last night there.
Day 11: Departure
We are at the end of our journey and this day will be the last day of our togetherness. We will be sharing some of the memorable photos that we have clicked. Finally, you will be transferred to Tribhuwan Internation Airport for your onward destination. |
