Day 01:
Phase 1-Reach the point, set up the camp:
You will be taken for a drive to Lomosangu Dam which is at 95 km east from Kathmandu. This will be the starting point of our entire rafting trip. This easy drive will let you to have the views of villages and some mountain ranges like Ganesh Himal, Langtang. Upon reaching there, lunch will be served while our team members set up the camp at the beach for overnight stay.
Phase 2 - Rafting preparation
You will then put on the helmet and life jacket. You may use water goggles, ear plugs, sunscreen cream if you like to. The team leader will brief you about the water safety, dos and don’ts and tell you about the commands he is going to give you during rafting. You will then be loaded into the raft with a paddling gear, all ready for a 3 and half hours white water rafting event.
Phase 3: Hello to Gerbil In The Plumbing
As soon as the raft begins, you will start to feel the increasing excitement while you try to grasp the leader’s command and follow it. You will soon enough begin tackling grade 3 rapids in a series. Finally you will have to tackle a giant grade 4 rapid called Gerbil In The Plumbing.
Phase 4. Yes to 3 and 4
There will be a long series of 3 and 4 graded falls, and sometimes calm sections where we can rest for a moment and get prepared for others. Some giants like ‘Frog in a Blender’, ‘Carnal Knowledge’ and ‘ExLax’ come on the way adding continuous excitement and feelings of victory on you.
Phase 5. Back to camp
After the continuous flow with the Bhote Koshi white water, we reach a village at Barhabise where we put an end to the day’s event. We load the rafts into the bus and drive back to camp where other fun events and relaxing moments await. You might play, drink, sing and dance and rejoice.
Day 02
Phase1. Second day begins
After breakfast and safety refresh sessions, we set out for another rafting through the same and new drops on the second day. This will be a rather long rafting event which will end at Dolalghat.
Phase 2. Hello rapids, we are back
You will be tackling all the rapids you had encountered the day before. One after another they appear and you will get to show your rafting skills better than that of the first time. Having cleared them all, you will continue to another but new and even more challenging rafting section.
Phase 3. Here come more rapids
As we continue through the dam that comes in your way, a giant and steep rapid known as “The Great Wall” welcomes serving us with really enthralling and spine-chilling pace. One after another, ‘Liquid Bliss’, ‘Fake Right Go Left’, ‘My God, What to Do’ and many other 3 and 4 graded rapids come. Finally, you will be on the Dolalghat premises at the confluence of Indrawati and Bhote Koshi rivers. This is where your rafting finally ends.
Phase 4- Back to Kathmandu
At Dolalghat, you will rest for a while, lunch will be served and will drive back to Kathmandu with a very thankful heart. You will be thanking the nature, river, water, gorges, rapids, rafts and all the factors for the blissful rafting you had in your life. |
